The Opportunity

Our client is seeking to employ a full time graduate or recently qualified Dental Nurse to join its busy specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice in Perth.

The role will enable you to develop your administration skills as you will provide reception and admin support too.

The Position

You will be responsible for aiding in the daily running of the clinic and reception, working in close conjunction with existing surgery and administration staff to deliver the best quality treatments and service to patients.

You should demonstrate excellent organisational skills and the ability to perform well in stressful situations to ensure steady workflows and uninterrupted service is provided at the highest level.

You must be comfortable talking with people on the phone, talking to patients about money and securing payment.

Given the extended periods of time that the doctors are in theatre, you must be comfortable to (at times) rely on contact with the practitioners via email, phone, SMS and other electronic communications tools.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with surgical procedures under local anaesthetic
  • Sterilisation/infection control
  • Minor lab work
  • Preparation and production of digital models
  • Stock control assistance
  • External lab co-ordination
  • All aspects of reception and telephone management
  • All aspects of data entry
  • Contact with the public, patients, doctors and other medical people
  • Make appointments, handle patient enquiries ensuring complete follow up

You will need the following skills and attributes:

  • Proven experience working in professional practice
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Well developed communication skills
  • The confidence to work autonomously
  • A mature approach to your work in handling sensitive information
  • The ability to multi-task, use your initiative and follow tasks through to completion
  • Intermediate computer skills including the ability and willingness to learn software programs
